Approximately 23% of the U.S. population has a mental health condition;Â 6% have a severe mental health condition; and 8% have a co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorder. Rates are even higher in low-income, rural, indigenous, and communities of color, where there are significant racial disparities in access to care.
This blog examines two CCBHCs that used non-traditional pay methods and a team-based approach to provide quality, equitable care to patients with behavioral and substance-use challenges. Rather than measuring success by the number of services provided, success is based on positive health outcomes for patients, including decreased emergency room and hospital visits.
Learn about these two CCBHC models:
- Serving: Children, adolescents, and adults
- Providing: high-quality, community-based behavioral care to anyone, regardless of ability to pay, where they live, or age
- Offering: 24/7 crisis services; full spectrum of services therefore eliminating need for multiple providers; cross-sector partnerships
